Induction KitAs many Elise S1, MGF and other toy car powered by a
Kseries engine, this elise has an "improved" induction system. In
theory, the engine should now suck as much air as it needs with less
flow restriction. This is the standard Engine bay layout:
First thing to do, take off the connexion between the air box and the Throttle Body. This is the easy bit... Next job, disconnect anything that is attached on the original throttle body. You might need to remove a few sensor connexions too. The throttle can now be removed and that's something
really interesting... When this new Throttle Body is properly mounted, reconnect everything (i.e. breather pipes, sensor connectors...) AND, leave the throttle cable loose...
Now, take off the Rover air box... again something nice to do as you have All the room you want to proceed (yes, I've been sarcastic). Clean the bay and air inlet. Fit the scoop and ducting. Fit the new air box and tight all the jobely clips I have added a few zip ties to make the air box/ducting
won't move and vibrate against the clam shell.
Ajust the throttle cable. If you don't, it might be too
tight and when you'll fire the engine, 3000RPM... Oups Go for a quiet test drive and when you're happy with the settings, Enjoy the throttle answer
